reSTART, the support programme orchestrated by BECI with the support of Brussels Economy & Employment, helps Brussels entrepreneurs who have faced bankruptcy or liquidation or closure of their business find the energy and motivation to restart a career project.
THE RESTART PROGRAMME
Bankruptcy, liquidation or closure of a company can result in serious financial, professional and personal trauma in those who experience it.
But, there has to be a future after this type of career accident, which is more common than generally thought, with over 3,000 bankruptcies recorded in Brussels every year. To help the Brussels entrepreneurs involved recover, to use their talents and experience and to invest themselves in new career projects, BECI has started reSTART, a special support programme, with the support of Brussels Economy and Employment.
The programme includes nearly 80 hours of individual and group support spread over five months during which the participants, called ‘reSTARTERS’, are asked to express themselves, communicate, exchange, listen to each other and share within exchange and development groups. In addition, they benefit from group coaching sessions provided by professional coaches, a range of personal development training sessions and technical courses ranging from digital marketing to financing to aid in the Brussels Region with, of course, the involvement of 1819, and from five individual coaching sessions provided free by EMCC Belgium coaches.
The programme is valued at €2,500 to €3,000 per participant and brings together many resources, coaches, trainers, presenters and experts and is entirely free for the reSTARTERS.
There are a few prerequisites to join a reSTART session:
- the business must be closed and in bankruptcy or liquidated
- the applicant must reside in Brussels or have their registered office there
- they must fill in the registration file available on line
- they must receive approval from the Selection Committee
