Solifin

Solifin aims to promote collaboration between positive societal impact finance actors active in Belgium, to facilitate access to finance for societal impact companies and to promote responsible finance and its more sustainable practices.

The Solifin network was created in July 2019, at the initiative of Belgian private responsible finance actors and thanks to the financial support of the Brussels-Capital Region.

Missions

The network has three main missions:

• Access to finance for entrepreneurs with a positive societal impact
• Strengthening the collaboration between responsible finance actors in Belgium and with the entire Belgian entrepreneurial ecosystem
• The promotion of responsible finance and its more sustainable practices.

Since its creation in 2019, the network has grown from 7 founding members to 27 members. These members are institutional financial actors, active in Belgium, with a minimum of 50% of their client portfolio consisting of companies with a positive societal impact. In addition, the rest of their portfolio must be certified as "socially responsible", guaranteeing a certain consistency in the use of their funds. To become members, they had to present their application to our ethics committee and then be approved by our Board of Directors.

Services

In concrete terms, Solifin offers tailor-made support to entrepreneurs with a social and/or environmental impact project. This support facilitates the entrepreneur's fundraising path through a first contact with the Solifin team, a training on how to raise funds, a pitching session and the matchmaking session where entrepreneurs meet investors. A search tool is available for entrepreneurs to refine their search for funding.
